Sights in Jimbaran
- Kedonganan Fish Market (market). Kedonganan Fish Market sits on the beach at the north end of Jimbaran Bay, where the local fleet of outrigger boats lands its catch. Stalls sell tuna, snapper, prawns, squid and crabs by weight, and the warungs around the market will grill or fry what you buy. Come early in the morning, when the boats are unloaded and the choice is widest.
- Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (park). Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park fills a former limestone quarry on the Bukit Peninsula. Its centerpiece, designed by sculptor Nyoman Nuarta and completed in 2018, shows the Hindu god Vishnu riding the eagle Garuda and stands 121 meters tall with its pedestal. Paths lead between the cut quarry walls, and Balinese dances are staged during the day; there is little shade, so mornings are cooler.
Beaches in Jimbaran
- Jimbaran Beach (beach). Jimbaran Beach curves for several kilometers around Jimbaran Bay, a sheltered arc of soft sand with calmer water than the open surf beaches of Kuta and Seminyak. Brightly painted fishing boats rest near the north end, and in the evening restaurants set tables on the sand to grill the day's catch. Sunset is the busiest time, when the beach restaurants fill up.
