SAKA Museum
Museum in Jimbaran (South Bali).
SAKA Museum is a museum of Balinese culture on the AYANA Bali estate, on the clifftops south of Jimbaran Bay, officially opened in 2024 and entered through the AYANA main gate. Its KASANGA galleries tell of Nyepi, the Day of Silence, with ogoh-ogoh demon effigies up to 12 metres tall, a documentary and a 360-degree dome film, and a second exhibition explains Bali's subak rice-irrigation system with games and puzzles. A full visit takes about 90 minutes.
With children
Four-year-olds and up walk beneath giant ogoh-ogoh, watch a film play all around them in the dome and try the puzzles and games of the rice-field exhibit. Under-12s stay with an adult, and the big effigies can scare small children. No food inside, and the café sells only drinks; bring a layer for the air-conditioning.
