Karya Arts & Crafts is a drop-in indoor art studio for young children on Jalan Subak Canggu in central Canggu. Children pay by the hour and move freely between more than 20 activities, from slime, kinetic sand and clay to painting hats, bags and kites, fuse beads and bath bombs, with water-based, non-toxic materials and staff on hand to help. Bigger keepsake projects such as canvases and fossil digs cost extra, and a small kitchen serves children's meals and coffee.
With children
Children from about two hop between slime, kinetic sand, clay and painting, decorate a hat or a tote bag to take home and, for a little extra, chip a toy fossil out of plaster. No booking is needed and it opens every day. Parents can stay and join in or drop children off; the air-conditioned studio suits a rainy or very hot day.
