Green Bowl Beach

Beach in Ungasan (South Bali).

Green Bowl is a small cove of white sand on the south coast of the Bukit Peninsula in Ungasan, below the Pura Batu Pageh temple, reached by a steep stairway of about 300 concrete steps down a forested cliff. Limestone caves at the back of the beach hold small Hindu shrines and roosting bats, and monkeys are often seen on the walk down. The reef offshore is a right-hand surf break for experienced surfers, and currents are strong when there is swell.
