Lembongan Mangrove Forest
Nature in Nusa Lembongan (Islands).
The mangrove forest covers the northeastern corner of Nusa Lembongan, beyond Jungutbatu, with quiet channels winding between the trees. Local boatmen pole small wooden boats through the waterways, and kayaks and paddleboards can be rented at the edge of the forest. Trips are best around high tide, when the channels are deep enough to explore.
With children
A quiet half-hour trip in a boat poled through the mangroves, where children can spot fish, crabs and roots growing out of the water. Go around high tide.
