Air Sanih
Nature in Bukti (North Bali).
Air Sanih, also called Yeh Sanih, is a set of spring-fed bathing pools on the shore at Bukti in Kubutambahan, about 17 km east of Singaraja, where villagers have bathed since 1930. A spring rises on the spot and runs without pause through the pools into the sea a few steps away, cold, clear and never chlorinated, over a natural stone floor. There is a deep pool for adults and a shallower one for children, with shade trees and warungs, and Pura Meduwe Karang is a short drive west.
With children
Children splash in the children's pool and older ones swim in the cold, clear spring water with the sea just beyond the wall, then picnic in the shade. Lifeguards cannot be counted on: the big pool is about 2 metres deep and even the children's pool about a metre, so keep non-swimmers within reach. Go early and avoid holidays.
