31 January 2027. Pura Agung Petilan, Kesiman, Denpasar
Eight days after Kuningan, the villages of Kesiman bring their temples' sacred barong and rangda to Pura Agung Petilan. As the procession circles the temple, worshippers fall into trance and some press krises against their chests. The ritual is held to purify the world.
Many Balinese ceremonies follow local calendars; check dates with the organisers before you travel.
