Lovina Beach
Beach in Lovina (North Bali).
Lovina Beach is the long strip of narrow, dark volcanic sand west of Singaraja, centered on Kalibukbuk and its dolphin statue, with outrigger boats pulled up on the shore. Boats leave at dawn to look for the dolphins offshore, though the boats often outnumber the dolphins. The sea is usually calm, better for swimming and snorkeling than for surfing.
Lovina Beach at a glance
- For children: Very good (4/5). Usually calm, gently shelving water, but the black sand gets hot and the shore has litter, moored boats and the odd sea urchin.
