Who to call, the hospitals open day and night and what to do first. Every number was checked against its own source in October 2026.

Numbers to call

112: Any emergency. Police, fire and ambulance. Answered in Denpasar and Sanur, Badung (Canggu to Uluwatu, Nusa Dua), Gianyar (Ubud), Klungkung (the Nusa islands) and central Lombok (Kuta); elsewhere, call 119 and the nearest hospital.
119: Ambulance. The health ministry's ambulance line, free to call, day and night. Local 119 teams are confirmed in Gianyar, Klungkung and Mataram; elsewhere, also phone the nearest hospital.
110: Police. Everywhere in Indonesia.
113: Fire. Or 112 where it is answered.
115: Search and rescue. Basarnas, at sea and in the mountains: missing swimmers, boats, divers and hikers.

Hospitals open day and night

The hospitals with a 24-hour emergency department, and the clinics open around the clock where no hospital is close. Private hospitals ask for a deposit or your insurer's guarantee: keep your policy number with you.

South Bali

Children: A children's emergency service with paediatricians in the emergency department day and night, and intensive care for newborns (NICU) and children (PICU).
Good to know: Bali's main public referral and teaching hospital, where the other hospitals send their most serious cases. Its hyperbaric chamber runs as a clinic Monday to Friday (not on public holidays); its site does not say whether it treats divers out of hours, so call DAN or the hospital first.

Bali International Hospital

Children: Emergency care for children and newborns; the health ministry's register lists intensive care for newborns (NICU) and children (PICU).
Animal bites: Gives the rabies vaccine day and night, and the immunoglobulin when needed (its own site).
Good to know: Opened in 2025 in Sanur's health zone, with its own ambulances and medical evacuation team.

Children: Intensive care for newborns (NICU) and children (PICU), paediatricians and a specialist in children's emergency and intensive care.
Good to know: Bali's provincial public hospital.

BIMC Hospital Kuta

Children: A paediatrician and general paediatrics; no intensive care for children is stated, so take a seriously ill child straight to a hospital with a PICU.
Animal bites: Keeps the rabies vaccine and the rabies immunoglobulin in stock, given in its 24-hour emergency department.
Good to know: A private hospital for visitors since 1998 (Siloam group), with English-speaking staff and ambulances; it arranges medical evacuation.

Children: Paediatricians, a children's ward and intensive care for newborns (NICU).
Good to know: A large private hospital in Kuta despite its name, with a trauma and medical evacuation unit.

Children: Intensive care for newborns (NICU) and for children up to 17 (PICU), and a children's clinic.
Good to know: A private hospital opened in 2021, by the airport.
