Bali Safari Park
Wildlife in Gianyar (Central Bali).
Bali Safari Park is a large park on the coast road east of Sanur, opened in 2007, where trams carry visitors through open enclosures themed on Indonesia, India and Africa, past lions, white tigers, zebras and hippos. Walking trails, animal shows and a children's area fill the rest of the grounds. Allow most of a day; it is about half an hour's drive from Sanur.
With children
The tram ride past lions, tigers, zebras and hippos suits even toddlers, and the Water Play & Fun Zone has pools and slides. Now called Taman Safari Bali. Plan a whole day and go early: by midday it is hot and busy.
