Siwaratri
6 January 2027. Island-wide
Siwaratri, Shiva's Night, falls on the eve of the new moon of the seventh Balinese month, held to be the darkest night of the year. Devotees fast, pray at temples and keep vigil through the night, so many temples are busy until dawn.
Many Balinese ceremonies follow local calendars; check dates with the organisers before you travel.
